Why not just search eBay myself?
You could — once a day, on one site, in English, forever. PharosEyes runs that search every day across eBay and 90+ marketplaces in 60+ countries, in the local language, by your serial number (which survives translation), your descriptions, and on Pro your actual photos — and emails you the moment something matches. Thieves count on victims giving up after week one. We don't get tired.
What kinds of items work best?
Items with unique identifying characteristics: serial numbers, certificates, distinctive markings, engravings, or detailed photographs. Common examples include watches, cameras, musical instruments, bicycles, jewelry, electronics, collectibles, and artwork. A serial number is the gold standard — it survives translation, vague descriptions, and even relisting under a different name. Not every stolen item is relisted online — but when it is, early detection can make all the difference.
Does it work in my country?
Yes — you pick the countries where your item might resurface, and we add their local marketplaces and language to the search. Serial numbers are searched worldwide regardless, because numbers don't need translating.
What happens when you find a match?
You get an email with the listing, the price, and exactly why we flagged it (serial hit, phrase match, photo match). You confirm or dismiss it in one click. Confirmed sightings build a police-ready report — printable evidence you hand to law enforcement, with your case number, photos, and every confirmed listing.
Do you contact the seller or get my item back?
No — and that's deliberate. We are a notify-only service: confronting sellers yourself can be unsafe and can destroy the evidence trail. We find it, document it, and arm you with the report; recovery goes through law enforcement, which is both the safe path and the one that holds up.
Case or subscription — which should I pick?
Just had something stolen? Pick a Case: one payment, 12 months of watching, set-and-forget. The subscription is for month-to-month flexibility. And for the long haul — an older theft, or after a Case ends — Long Watch keeps weekly checks running for $7.50 a year, because thieves often wait years before selling. All are per item, and the eBay-only free tier needs no card.
What do you do with my information?
We use it for exactly one thing: finding your item. Photos and details are encrypted in transit, stored securely, and deleted when you delete your account. We monitor property, not people — we'll never ask for information about who you suspect.
